Robert Dumas

Adjunct Instructor - Voice

Robert Dumas is a summa cum laude graduate of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Performer’s Certificate in Voice; he received his MM in Music Education from Ithaca College. Robert currently lives in Oswego, NY where he is the Oswego High School Vocal Music Teacher and conducts three curricular choirs, teaches music theory, serves as the Music Director & Producer for the annual musical, and is the Team Leader for the K-12 Music Department; previously he was the Director of Choirs at Southside High School and Music Director at the First Presbyterian Church in Elmira, NY.
 
As a soloist, Robert enjoys singing both musical theater and operatic repertoire. While a student at Crane, Robert appeared with internationally renown mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe in the world premier production of The Sailor-Boy and the Falcon by Paul Siskind. During the summer, Robert greatly enjoys working with students of varying ages at Bristol Hills Music Camp and tours annually with American Music Abroad performing in many European countries including Germany, Austria, France, Italy, and the Czech Republic. Additionally, he studied abroad with the “Oberlin in Italy” summer music program held in Urbania, Italy, has been a private student of Dr. Robert McIver and studied Vocal Pedagogy with Kathryn Cowdrick, both of the Eastman School of Music.
