Accreditation

SUNY Oswego is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), with accreditation status of Accreditation Reaffirmed. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.

Computer Science and Engineering Programs
  • The computer science bachelor of science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Computer Science.
  • The electrical and computer engineering bachelor of science program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Computer Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
  • The software engineering BS program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Software Engineering.

Accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
