Technology Education Field Experience

Field experiences take place after the regular semester ends, during a three-week time frame at the start of winter or summer break. It is preferred that the candidate completes the 35-hours during five consecutive days. Students will also be responsible for completing an application in Google Forms.

Registration

Technology Education field experience candidates must register for their field experience through myOswego the same way you register for all classes.

All technology education candidates must sign up for field experiences by the third week of classes each semester while taking the following courses:

Both the Field Experience and Student Teaching applications will generally become available and close on the dates listed below. For those going into TED 316, your Student Teaching Application for the following semester will be included in the same application.

Orientation

A Clinical Practice and Partnerships Office team member will conduct an orientation at the beginning of each semester. In the Fall, the orientation will occur in September, and in the Spring semester, the orientation will occur in January. Candidates will receive additional information during their 201, 206, and 306 courses. Below are the orientation dates for Fall 2025 - Spring 2026.

TED 211:

Time: 8:00 AM

This orientation will typically take place during your respective class time.

TED 216:

Date: February 6th

Time: 10:20-12:40

This orientation will typically take place during your respective class time.

TED 316:

Fall Orientation:
