MKT 320 - Sales & Marketing Technology
Maureen Melville is the inaugural Director of SUNY Oswego’s Center for Business Excellence and Transformation (CBET), a new campus hub for experiential learning, innovation, and community partnership. A dynamic educator, business leader, and connector, Melville brings more than a decade of industry experience and a strong record of student mentorship, strategic partnership development, and program creation to the role.
Since joining SUNY Oswego in 2018, Melville has served as a Visiting Assistant Professor, Faculty Career Mentor, and Dean’s Leadership Fellow. She was instrumental in launching and scaling the Sales Minor, and in creating signature co-curricular events like the Sales Triathlon and Mock Interview Palooza. Her efforts have helped hundreds of students gain practical experience and direct access to industry professionals.
As CBET Director, Melville leads a multifaceted initiative focused on talent pipeline development, student engagement, applied research, and regional economic growth. CBET’s programming includes NSF-funded innovation, nonprofit internships through the Shineman Grant, a forthcoming student-run consulting agency, and the only Sales Center in the SUNY system.
Prior to her academic career, Melville held leadership roles in sales, advertising, and digital marketing at The Post-Standard/Advance Media NY and Veritiv. Melville earned her MBA from SUNY Oswego and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology, with a double major in Marketing and International Business.
