SUNY Oswego Leadership, Innovation, and Discovery (SOLID) Conference

Made possible through SUNY Oswego’s NSF EPIIC grant, the SUNY Oswego Leadership, Innovation & Discovery (SOLID) Conference brings together students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners to explore how research and interdisciplinary collaboration can create meaningful real-world impact. Centered on the theme Cultivating Innovation: From Research to Real-World Impact, the conference celebrates discovery, strengthens connections across business and STEM disciplines, and highlights opportunities to move innovative ideas beyond the classroom and laboratory.
The conference will feature keynote speaker Dr. Paul Vianco, a materials scientist and retired Senior Engineer from Sandia National Laboratories whose work advanced soldering technology and high-reliability electronics. The program will also include panels highlighting research successes and industry partnerships, faculty discussions, student poster presentations, and a session focused on the Teaching Scholar Model. Together, these activities will create a day dedicated to sharing ideas, building connections, and demonstrating how collaboration can turn research into practical solutions.
