Biography

Davana Robedee is an artist, curator, and educator. She creates large scale indigo drawings and fiber art installations. Her experience with phenomena such as visual aura, lucid dreams, and hallucinations is the driving force behind her creative practice. Previously the Program Director at the Schweinfurth Art Center, she has organized the internationally recognized Quilting by the Lake Conference and overseen programs and exhibitions for the past 8 years. Robedee has 10+ years of experience in the educational sector teaching, developing curriculum and educational arts programs at the university level as a professor and in a STEAM arts enrichment program teaching integrated arts and science for K-5, as well as overseeing the Art Center’s education programming. She also serves on the Syracuse Public Art Commission and the Surface Design Association’s Events Committee.

Her work has been shown in numerous solo exhibitions nationwide including, As Above, So Below, at 3S ArtSpace in Portsmouth, NH, The Instability of Nothing, at Riverviews Art Space in Lynchburg, VA, In a Moment- Between Dreams, Dowd Gallery- SUNY Cortland, Cortland, NY, The Divergence of Light, Curfman Gallery, Fort Collins, Colorado, Revival, AC Institute, New York, NY, Asymptote, Thompson’s Point, Portland, MEand Climates, at View Art Center in Old Forge, NY. She has participated in residencies at Weissensee School of Art in Berlin, Kimmel Harding Nelson in Nebraska City, and Penland in Ashville, NC.
