Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to help students develop the skills that they need to be successful in adulthood.

Essential Performance Responsibilities
Ag/FACS teachers teach a variety of topics, including food science and/or other subjects related to Agricultural science and management, family dynamics, nutrition, health, relationships, time management, and personal finance. They may also teach cooking techniques. 

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
Uses a variety of equipment provided by the school including kitchen appliances, washers/dryers, etc. There is also a barn on the district campus.

Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
 
Qualifications Profile

• Certification/License:
• NYS Certification as an Agriculture Teacher or a Family and Consumer Science Teacher OR
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field and willingness to pursue further education.
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Education

• Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Masters Degree preferred.

Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
