Yayu Liu

Yayu Liu was born in China, currently residing in Staten Island, NY. As a graphic designer, creating design using digital technology has become one of Liu's essential methods to generate creative artwork.

Nowadays, using technology, such as using computers, phones, and DSLR cameras, is an ordinary skill. To explore these applications and creatively apply their usage is Liu's objective as an artist.

By getting a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree, Liu displays an experienced-understanding of the useful skills necessary as a graphic designer. In the future, Liu plans on exploring the multimedia industry.

Although I love generating animation and looking at animation work, my artwork has covered a more extensive range of art. In this exhibition, I believe it was necessary to show my potential as a generalist artist who is capable of different software and the ability to adapt to new software quickly.

My inspiration comes from what I see daily; sometimes, it would be interesting things I see. Other times, the emotions and ideas that pique my inspiration comes from my culture. I expect my work to show my point of view to the world and to display my personal growth through the different tools I have used. Looking at all of my work from using platforms like Adobe Suite to Lightwave 3D and Cinema 4D, they validate my exploration of an extensive range of digital applications.
