Biography
Nate's interest in art started at a young age in Stanley, New York. He found peace in the calmness of nature and sought to create art that was as random as nature itself. After high school, he moved onto his local community college, where he got to use the knowledge that he learned from working on the yearbook team at school. At his community college, he made it into the Spring Arts Festival and got awards for prowess in his work in the subjects of ceramics and illustration. At SUNY Oswego, he learned how to adapt his work and make it more professional. He has had work in the 56th and 57th annual juried show and The Mystical Art of Tibet show. After college, he plans to pursue art that displays his interests in nature.
Artist Statement
As an artist, I am interested in the natural world, one that is full of animals and nature working together. There is a consistent theme of life in my art, which shows the image of the world seen as it is. I don't have a specific medium that I like the most; however, I enjoy photography and illustrations of animals that I do in pen and ink. All I want to show is the basics rather than the sprawling industrial zones that modernism likes to highlight. My inspiration is the peacefulness of nature and how things are at calm when you are in the middle of nowhere. I find the freedom of nature intriguing, how the birds and the deer can roam freely and live to survive. I wish that were the way life worked in our society today.
