Artist Statement

I am a printmaker by trade and an illustrator because of it. In my work I strive to integrate social, political, and personal problems that directly impact me in my daily life. My inspiration comes from problems or causes that I relate to such as the harm humans cause to manatees and the coral reefs, the daily pain I endure because of endometriosis, or support for a political candidate advocating for social change and workers rights.

For every cause I make work about, I have a strong emotional reaction towards it. Whether that emotion is hope for a political cause or immense sadness for the extinction of species, each feeling drives me to make work that I am proud of. Through the work I've created, I intend to invoke a reaction from the viewer that, hopefully, is similar to mine.
