Artist Statement
Self-expression is something we all search for; I have always expressed myself in artistic ways. My love for the camera started when I was young but grew into a passion when I took my first black and white film photography class at Mohawk Valley Community College. I enjoy doing visually artistic work, created photographically. I recently made a series of photographs that dealt with embracing the flaws of experimental processes. My artwork is a mixture of traditional photography and the artistic qualities of a modern artist. Much of my inspiration comes from the world around me, the action of capturing that world is my way of filtering out what is essential and what is only background noise. Experimental photography processes are the most interesting to me because you get your hands dirty and become involved in the craft. In this fast-paced world, it is nice to slow down and discover the simpler things in life.
