Katherine McArdle was born and raised in Solvay, New York. After achieving an Associate's degree in Humanities from Onondaga Community College, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an artist and went back to school for art. She is currently on track to graduate with a BFA in Studio Art with a MAT concentration and a Minor in Art History. Her goal is to go on to graduate school and teach art K-12.
My art has always been a way for me to both express and reflect, and so much of my art pieces are self-portraits. These pieces allow me to process my feelings as well as my self-image, whether the medium is through graphite, watercolor, acrylic, or mixed media. These different mediums allow me to explore and express different feelings and emotions. In my art, I've found confidence in how I view myself, both physically and mentally. My work isn't limited to self-portraits, but even in those artworks, I still manage to include pieces of myself, my feelings, and my views.
