Institute for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Transformative Practice

Our Mission

The Triandiflou Institute for Equity Diversity, Inclusion, and Transformative Practice nurtures curiosity, fosters a community of learners, and recognizes the lived experiences of campus and community members through education, research, and impactful dialogue.

Our Vision

Our vision for SUNY Oswego is to cultivate a campus where equity, diversity, and inclusion are not only valued but actively lived. The Institute, through collaborative efforts and strategic partnerships, will be an essential asset to the university’s continued progress and success.

About the Triandiflou Institute

The Triandiflou Institute is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable campus community for everyone. We seek to collaborate across campus to identify impactful connections to engage in equity-minded work.

The Institute amplifies and assists in ongoing inclusion research and programming via intentional collaborations with faculty, staff, students, and the local community. We serve as a resource for best practices, colloquia, and other professional development opportunities on topics related to equity, inclusion, and transformative practices.

For students, we offer opportunities to connect with like-minded peers, faculty, staff, and community members to nurture curiosity and gain new knowledge of self and others' experiences.

As a faculty and staff member, The Institute provides resources, training, and support to aid in the designing of inclusive environments.

The Institute leads and amplifies student, staff, and faculty thriving through partnership with the curricular and co-curricular across campus. We aspire to achieve understanding thoughtful programming, Dialogue, and workshops including, but not limited to, social justice, transformative dialogue, empathy, cultural humility, implicit bias, micro/macroaggressions, conflict de-escalation, inclusive curricula, nonviolent communication, and restorative justice.

Together we can shape a campus where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive on campus and beyond.

Join us in forming a more equitable future.
