Biography

Born and raised in Nassau, The Bahamas, Aiden Wilson began his studies at SUNY Oswego in the Fall of 2021, pursuing majors in Finance and Marketing with a minor in Health Science. Initially, Mr. Wilson struggled with homesickness and social disengagement. However, during his second semester, he became more involved on campus, a decision that transformed his college experience. Throughout his three years at Oswego, Mr. Wilson has taken on numerous roles to foster a sense of community, including Resident Assistant, Laker Leader, S.T.A.R.T. Peer Mentor, Student Representative for the Oswego University Foundation, and Intern in The Office of Admissions and much more. Through these experiences, he became acutely aware of the challenges faced by his peers. This insight motivated him to run for and be elected as President of the Student Association for the 2024-2025 academic year, where he represents and advocates for the student body. However, Mr. Wilson’s path to leadership was not without its challenges. Moments of doubt, setbacks, and personal growth shaped his journey. Yet, his faith and determination kept him moving forward. He embraced each opportunity, even when he couldn’t immediately see its value, pushing himself beyond his comfort zone. He likens his personal and professional growth to that of a plant—his struggles forming deep roots, his experiences fostering growth, and his achievements now blossoming into the leader he has become.
