The Department of Psychological Sciences is invested in helping students obtain hands-on education and training in experiential-based settings. SUNY Oswego's strong internship network is available to help you pursue many field opportunities that build your skills and knowledge in psychology.
Internship Requirements & Expectations
In addition to completing work at your internship site (40 hours of work per credit hour), you will also participate in an academic component, which involves regular meetings and course activities. Internship courses are offered every Fall, Spring, and Summer semester. These courses are offered entirely online, so you are free to work at a local internship site or explore opportunities in other cities!
How To Apply
Students interested in completing an internship should contact Dr. Ashlee Moore ([email protected]) the semester prior to the internship experience. Students are responsible for finding and securing their own internship, but there are resources to help you with this process. Internships must be secured at least 5 weeks prior to the semester starting. Once an internship has been secured, Dr. Moore will assist you in getting your internship approved by EXCEL. For more information, please see the Psychology Internship Handbook.
