Hosted a reception at Shady Shore for 24 members of the 2025 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders from 18 African countries sponsored by Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and funded by the U.S. Department of State. Attendees included Candace Jackson, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff to the Chancellor, Syracuse University, Professor John McPeak, Syracuse University School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and the university’s Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Mary Grace Almandrez. Traveled to Africa as part of the SUNY-Africa Initiative, joining a delegation led by SUNY System Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Ram Ramasubramanian, SUNY Polytechnic Institute President Winston Soboyejo, SUNY Fredonia President Stephen Kolison Jr., SUNY Oswego Associate Provost for International Education Josh McKeown and SUNY Poly Vice President for External Relations and Chief of Staff Wayne Westervelt.
Participated in debrief meetings on the SUNY-Africa Initiative with SUNY System Provost Ramasubramanian, Chief of Staff Marianne Hassan, and colleagues from SUNY Poly, SUNY Fredonia, and SUNY Oswego.
