External Engagement

  • Proudly served as Grand Marshal for the Oswego Independence Day Parade.
  • Chaired the Oswego County Micron Strategy Steering Committee meeting via Zoom as the county prepares for Micron’s investment in the region.
  • Participated as a committee member in the search for SUNY’s Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs.
  • Participated in multiple meetings of the SUNY Legal Accountability Committee as committee member.
  • Attended the SUNY Comprehensive Sector Presidents’ Meeting, and the Presidents’ Retreat, both held in Saratoga, NY.
  • Joined SUNY Presidents’ meetings via Zoom.
  • Hosted a reception at Shady Shore for 24 members of the 2025 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders from 18 African countries sponsored by Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and funded by the U.S. Department of State. Attendees included Candace Jackson, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff to the Chancellor, Syracuse University, Professor John McPeak, Syracuse University School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and the university’s Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Mary Grace Almandrez. Also in attendance were Oswego Mayor Robert Corradino, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Kendra Cadogan, Associate Provost for International Education Josh McKeown, Director of Operations Jamal Coleman, Vice President for Communications and Marketing Karen Crowe, Assistant Vice President for Workforce Innovation and External Relations Kristi Eck, Interim Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship and Dean of Graduate Studies Kristen Eichhorn, Professor of Marketing and Director of the Center for Business Excellence and Transformation Maureen Melville, Professor of Anthropology Patricia Princehouse, Assistant Dean, College of Business and Entrepreneurship Irene Scruton, MBA student Sola Fawehinmi, and former Student Association President Aiden Wilson.
  • Participated in a Zoom meeting with Chancellor King, who provided a federal update to SUNY campus leaders.
  • Chaired the Committee on Student Success for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) meeting via Zoom.
  • Traveled to Africa as part of the SUNY-Africa Initiative, joining a delegation led by SUNY System Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Ram Ramasubramanian, SUNY Polytechnic Institute President Winston Soboyejo, SUNY Fredonia President Stephen Kolison Jr., SUNY Oswego Associate Provost for International Education Josh McKeown and SUNY Poly Vice President for External Relations and Chief of Staff Wayne Westervelt.
  • Participated in debrief meetings on the SUNY-Africa Initiative with SUNY System Provost Ramasubramanian, Chief of Staff Marianne Hassan, and colleagues from SUNY Poly, SUNY Fredonia, and SUNY Oswego.
  • Served as a panelist for SUNY Fredonia’s discussion on shared governance.
  • Attended the Annual BOND Awards convening in Mississauga, Ontario, and received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Academia and Leadership.
  • Attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the STEAM School in the Syracuse City School District.
  • Attended a special board meeting of the Oswego University Foundation via Zoom.
  • Participated in a tour of the new Syracuse SUNY Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) facility.
  • Participated in annual board meeting of the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) held in Washington, D.C.
  • Participated as council member in the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council (CNYREDC) meeting at Onondaga Community College with Assistant Vice President Eck.
  • Hosted New York State Sen. Christopher Ryan during his half-day visit to SUNY Oswego, joined by campus leadership including Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Scott Furlong, Vice President for Administration and Finance Victoria Furlong, college deans, and others.
  • Participated as board member in the CenterState CEO Board of Directors meeting in Syracuse.
  • Met with members of the Shineman Foundation Board, along with Vice President for University Advancement Heath Wood, Vice President for Enrollment Management Cory Bezek, and Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations Jeniffer Hill.

Internal Engagement

  • Participated in the New Faculty and Professional Staff Orientation and delivered welcome remarks.
  • Hosted the annual Opening Breakfast, where Austin Wheelock, executive director of Operation Oswego County, served as keynote speaker on regional economic growth and development.
  • Participated in the annual Torchlight Ceremony and provided remarks to formally welcome new students.
  • Joined the new International Student Orientation and delivered welcome remarks.
  • Delivered welcome remarks at the new Graduate Student Orientation.
  • Participated in New Student Move-In Day with Operations Director Coleman and Vice President for Student Affairs Kathleen Kerr and joined in welcoming students and their families at the new students’ residence halls.
  • Participated in the Employee and Student Appreciation Barbecue.
  • Participated in this year’s Taste of Oswego and joined the “O” photoshoot.
  • Attended and greeted students at the Student Involvement Fair.
  • Held a Faculty Assembly leadership meeting with Faculty Assembly Chair Gwen Kay and Provost Furlong as part of shared governance.
  • Joined the Faculty Assembly Executive Board meeting via Zoom.
  • Presented the president’s report at the General Faculty Meeting.
  • Continued meetings with individual faculty, staff, and students across the university.
  • Met with faculty in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services, accompanied by College of Education and Human Services Dean Laura Spenceley and Director of Operations Coleman.
  • Met with faculty in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, accompanied by Dean Spenceley and Director of Operations Coleman.
  • Chaired the President’s Facilities Planning Group meeting.
  • Chaired the UUP Labor-Management meeting.
  • Met with Faculty Athletic Representatives Kaitlin Fisher and Robert Auler, joined by Vice President Kerr and Assistant Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Wendy McManus.
  • Held several SUNY Oswego Africa Program meetings with Provost Furlong, Associate Provost McKeown, Operations Director Coleman, Deputy to the President Murat Yasar, and Vice President Bezek.
  • Toured Hewitt Hall, accompanied by College of Communication, Media and the Arts Dean Jennifer Knapp, Operations Director Coleman, Associate Dean Kelly Roe, Associate Vice President for Facilities Services Mitch Fields, and Director of Capital Projects Devin Reese.
  • Participated in this year’s International Day of Peace Walk hosted by ALANA.
