SUNY Oswego’s Division of Extended Learning recently partnered with Oswego Health to strengthen organizational leadership through customized management training for 13 practice managers.
Participants completed the Leadership Foundations track of SUNY Oswego’s Leadership Development Academy, gaining practical strategies and skills they can apply in their leadership roles.
The Leadership Development Academy includes three microcredential tracks designed to address key areas of leadership development: Leadership Foundations, focused on self-awareness, professionalism and the transition to leading others; Communication for Leadership, focused on clear and effective workplace communication; and Managing Performance and Accountability, focused on setting expectations, providing feedback and supporting team accountability.
The Leadership Foundations program included 24 hours of interactive training delivered over six months, giving participants the opportunity to learn together, reflect on their leadership practices, and apply new tools and strategies within their teams. Those who successfully completed the program requirements earned a SUNY Oswego Leadership Foundations microcredential.
The partnership reflects SUNY Oswego’s commitment to supporting employers and organizations throughout the region through responsive professional development and workforce training. Through customized training and microcredentials, the Division of Extended Learning works with organizations to address workforce needs, develop employees, and strengthen leadership capacity.
