Diana Balmori Award
This is awarded annually to a student who submits the best research paper on a topic specifically related to gender issues in a course affiliated with the GWS Program. To qualify for this award, a student must:
- Be fully matriculated & in good standing.
- Produce the best GWS research paper (both WST-prefixed and affiliated courses).
- Preference is given to a GWS Major or Minor.

GWS Engaged Student Award
This is awarded annually to a student who is highly engaged in the SUNY Oswego campus and/or broader community. To qualify for the award a student must:
- Be fully matriculated & in good standing.
- Be a GWS Major or Minor.
- Submit a 500 word statement in response to select prompts.

Sonia P Frankel Memorial Scholarship
Dean's Writing Award in GWS
Early in the spring semester, all departments and degree-granting programs on campus select the most outstanding written work submitted by their students during the preceding calendar year in order to present a Dean’s Writing Award in each major.
Winning authors receive their awards along with certificates at a Quest Day ceremony, and winning pieces are both displayed in Penfield Library on Quest Day and archived on the Writing Across the Curriculum website.
