Dean, Associate Professor
Bio
Spenceley's background marries clinical psychology (MA, Ball State University) and school psychology (Ph.D., Syracuse University), with a focus on psychoeducational assessment, diagnostic best practices and educational support for young people experiencing illness and injury that impacts their learning.
She served as a core faculty member of the SUNY Oswego School Psychology MS/CAS program, teaching courses in assessment, measurement, human development and research, before shifting to an administrative position. As Dean, she has the pleasure of representing six academic departments that reflect a diverse array of teacher preparation programs, school leadership programs, mental and behavioral health programs, and management programs both at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Recognitions include Deans for Impact, Impact Academy Fellow 2023 - 24 (Cohort 8); SUNY Oswego Division of Graduate Studies Outstanding Mentor Award, November 2019; New York Association of School Psychologists, Presidential Service Award, October 2019; Perry A. Zirkel Education Faculty Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Teaching, Spring 2018.
