Yonggang Wang

Bio

Dr. Yonggang Wang is an assistant professor at the Department of Atmospheric and Geological Sciences. He finished his Ph.D. degree at the University of Wyoming and worked as research faculty at Texas Tech University. Dr. Wang is a meteorologist and climatologist. He has taught meteorology, climatology and numerical weather and climate prediction. 

His research interests include numerical weather and earth system modeling, cloud and precipitation physics, hydroclimatic predictions and Arctic weather and climate. Dr. Wang’s recent works have been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy that study Arctic cold-air outbreak events and lake-effect thunderstorms. Dr. Wang earned an Award of Excellence in Research and Sponsored Program Gold Medal in 2023.
