Bio
Dr. Bidwell is an Associate Professor within the Department of Health Promotion and Wellness, where she has been teaching nutrition, exercise physiology and behavior change courses since 2011. Dr. Bidwell holds an MS and Ph.D. from Syracuse University, specializing in Exercise Physiology and Science Education.
Her research pursuits currently center on the integration of evidence-based positive psychology strategies, goal setting, resilience exercises and mindfulness techniques within the academic setting, all geared towards enriching the holistic well-being of her students. Dr. Bidwell has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, co-authored a textbook and is currently writing her own textbook for Kendall Hunt on implementing positive psychology tools in the college classroom. Additionally, Dr. Bidwell is writing a memoir on trauma, perseverance, resilience and post-traumatic growth. Her research has been disseminated at various national and international conferences.
