Bio

Laura Donnelly is the author of two collections of poetry, "Midwest Gothic" (2020) and "Watershed" (2014). "Midwest Gothic" received the Richard Snyder Memorial Prize from Ashland Poetry Press and was a finalist for the Lexi Rudnitsky Editor’s choice award (Persea Books) and the Berkshire Prize (Tupelo Press). "Watershed" received the Cider Press Review Editors’ Prize. 

Donnelly’s poems have been published by Colorado Review, Indiana Review, Missouri Review, Harvard Review, Passages North, SWWIM, Poets.org and elsewhere. She received her MFA from Purdue University, Ph.D. in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University, and has been awarded residencies in poetry at Yaddo and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Originally from Michigan, she lives in upstate New York where she teaches and directs the creative writing program at SUNY Oswego.
