Bio

Amy Shore is Professor of Cinema and Screen Studies at SUNY Oswego. She came to Oswego in 2005 to help found the major, which has grown from a handful of majors in the early years to over 160 current students. She primarily teaches courses in film history, theory and criticism but also teaches hybrid courses that integrate theory and practice.

Expertise Description

Her research and publications focus on the use of film and video for social movements, and her publications include Suffrage and the Silver Screen (Peter Lang, 2014), a book-length study of the American woman suffrage movement's use of film to gain the vote. She earned her MA and PhD from New York University's Cinema Studies Program and a BA in Spanish Literature from the University of Delaware.
