I'm endlessly inspired by my SUNY Oswego students.

Everyday, I get to experience my creative writing and honors students' drive to tell stories in ways that are uniquely theirs, to surprise readers, to drop jaws and gasp gasps. My students challenge me to be a better reader, writer and educator.

I'm the Online Editor for The Citron Review. My creative writing is in beloved publications like: The Greensboro Review, New World Writing, Juked, Litro, Taco Bell Quarterly, The Hong Kong Review, FRiGG, Fractured Literary, Esquire and most recently Three Hearts: An Anthology of Cephalopod Poetry.

I'm endlessly inspired by my SUNY Oswego colleagues creating new venues for contests, publications and live readings. Sharing our stories promotes global and local connections.

The ACUE year-long professional program helped me gain confidence in new ways to connect with students, but it also helped me engage colleagues about our best practices in the classroom. I've grown thanks to the generosity of all my colleagues and mentors in my department and beyond. In fact, I've had the good fortune to receive the 2024 Provost's Award for Teaching Excellence as an Adjunct Instructor.

Teaching is constant evolution and our students deserve every inspiration.

Students feed off the energy and drive of their professors. As a graduate of SUNY Oswego, I know I certainly did.

I still do.
