Mario Bkassiny received the B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering with High Distinction and the M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the Lebanese American University, Lebanon, in 2008 and 2009, respectively. He received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with Distinction from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM in 2013.

He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego. He worked as a Research Assistant at the Communication and Information Sciences Laboratory (CISL) at the University of New Mexico from 2009 to 2013.

Dr. Bkassiny served as the co-chair of the Communications and Signal Processing Symposium of the 16th International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC 2020). He also served as a technical program committee (TPC) co-chair of the Workshop on Wideband Cognitive Radio Communication and Networks (WCRCN) at the IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC-Fall 2013). He was a TPC member of the Cognitive Radio and Spectrum Sensing track at the IEEE VTC-Fall 2015 conference. He served as a Guest Editor of the Special Issue on Antennas and RF Front Ends for Cognitive Radio in the International Journal of Antennas and Propagation. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
