Juliet Aires Giglio is a screenwriter, novelist, and tenured professor at SUNY Oswego, where she teaches screenwriting. Juliet’s recently produced films include Reba McEntire’s Christmas in Tune, Dear Christmas, A Very Nutty Christmas, and Christmas Reservations - all of which were made for Lifetime and have also aired on HBO Max and Frndly. Her other screenwriting credits include Disney’s Tarzan, ABC’s Noah, Freeform’s Pizza My Heart, and Disney Channel’s Return to Halloweentown. Her first novel The Summer of Christmas was published by Sourcebooks in July 2022, and her second novel, The Trouble with Tinsel, publishes by Sourcebooks in October 2023.
Juliet is renowned for her experience in the Christmas movie space, and entertainment space. She was recently featured on NPR Marketplace, as well as WAER’s Pop Life podcast, and Melissa Joan Hart’s What Women Binge podcast.
Her published academic books include Proof of Concept: Writing the Short Script from Kendall Hunt Publishing and a chapter on outlining screenplays in Cut to the Chase: Writing Feature Films with the Pros at UCLA Extension Writers' Program from Penguin. Juliet’s short documentary, Only 982, about the 982 European Holocaust survivors who lived at Fort Ontario, NY, has been featured on PBS and through programming at synagogues, churches, and other local clubs.
Juliet is an active member of the Writers Guild of America, the Television Academy, and New York Women in Film & TV. She received a BA from Dartmouth College where she majored in English and an MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in Film & Television.
