Transportation

We make it convenient to get around Oswego and the surrounding area, whether you're headed to class, need to make a store run or going home for break.

SUNY Oswego partners with Centro to make campus and local transportation safe and easy. By showing a valid SUNY Oswego ID and sticker, you can access campus and city routes for free, and travel to Syracuse for a reduced rate! We also offer multiple travel services to help you get home during break so you can rest and relax.

Coming to Oswego

For students without a car, the best method of traveling long distance is by connecting through Syracuse and then traveling via bus, train or plane. Hancock International is the closest airport, while the Regional Transportation Center (RTC) is the major departure point for trains and buses. Both hubs are about an hour's distance from SUNY Oswego.

By Plane

The Syracuse Hancock International Airport is the closest airport to Oswego. Centro buses to Oswego do NOT service the airport. Although there is cab service, it is very expensive all the way to Oswego.

Another option after arriving at Hancock International is to take a cab 7 miles to the Regional Transportation Center (RTC) then take a Centro bus to campus (see Centro information in the By Bus or Train section below). There is no bus service from Syracuse to Oswego after 6:45pm. Plan accordingly!

Greyhound, Trailways, and MegaBus all travel into Syracuse to the Regional Transportation Center (RTC).
