Overview

Integrative Professional Studies offers both a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science option. This flexibility allows you to focus on topics that support your personal, academic and professional goals while completing a SUNY Oswego degree.

IPS is especially well suited for students with previous college credit, returning students and working adults who need a degree pathway that recognizes where they have been and helps them move toward what comes next. With support from an academic planning coordinator, you can identify the option that best fits your background, interests and timeline.

The program emphasizes practical skills that are valuable across fields, including communication, leadership, digital fluency, ethical decision-making, project management and problem-solving. SUNY Oswego’s at Syracuse gives students in Central New York a local connection to a respected SUNY Oswego degree while supporting the flexibility many adult learners and transfer students need.

Curriculum

IPS is designed to help students make the most of eligible transfer credits while building a focused path to degree completion. Before you apply, we recommend connecting with an academic planning coordinator who can help review your previous coursework, explain degree requirements and identify the pathway that best supports your goals.

Your plan may include coursework connected to leadership, communication, digital platforms, data-informed decision-making, social responsibility and professional development.

This planning step is especially helpful for students transferring from a community college, returning after time away or bringing credits from multiple institutions.
