What really got me into teaching was that when I was a manager at a bank, I was teaching financial literacy to underprivileged neighborhoods and those who didn’t understand financial literacy at all. That made me want to teach in high school. I had seen the need and wanted to fill the role.
What I took away from the Career and Technical Education master’s program was that the foundations and mechanics of quality education are the same in every classroom. The content and the location can change, but all educators work from the same basic principles.

SUNY Cobleskill Agricultural Business and Animal Science students can get a head start on SUNY Oswego’s MSEd in Agricultural Education by completing up to 12 graduate credits while earning their bachelor’s degree.
Submit official transcripts confirming your bachelor’s or master’s degree/advanced certificate. This includes graduate-level coursework or post-baccalaureate degree/certificate. U.S. transcripts must be sent directly from the granting institution (electronic or mail).
We require students to provide a WES Course by Course (ICAP) evaluation, an IEE Education Course Report (US), or TEC (formally known as SpanTran) Divisional Course Analysis for credentials earned outside of the United States. This evaluation ensures that we can provide quality assessment of coursework from all countries where various grading scales and languages may exist.
A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better is recommended for applicants to be competitive in the application process.
GRE scores are not required for graduate admissions at SUNY Oswego. Applicants who believe a GRE score would strengthen their credentials for admission have the option to submit test scores as part of their application package.
Prospective students seeking to teach in an area that differs from the undergraduate area of study will be required to take the OCE to demonstrate proficiency in the desired area of teaching. Prospective students are encouraged to contact the department for guidance regarding the OCE prior to submitting an application.
In 500 words or less, describe your personal achievements relating to your academic interests, and detail your educational and professional objectives with reasoning for applying to SUNY Oswego. This statement will help the review team better understand and evaluate your application.
Include a professional resume or CV that includes your academic history, professional background and any accomplishments of note. This document should provide details that support your admittance to the program.
