Dr. Kristen Eichhorn serves as Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at SUNY Oswego. She also continues her roles as Dean of Graduate Studies and Interim Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Eichhorn joined SUNY Oswego in 2007 as an Associate Professor of Communication Studies and was promoted to full Professor in 2014. She has held numerous leadership roles at the university, including Chair of the Department of Communication Studies, Interim Dean of the Division of Extended Learning, and Dean of Graduate Studies since 2017. During her tenure as Dean of Graduate Studies, graduate enrollment increased by 34%. In fall 2025, she assumed additional leadership as Interim Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
Her service includes roles as a Presidential Faculty Fellow, SUNY Faculty Senator, and participant in the American Council on Education Fellows Program, completing her fellowship at Cornell University. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools, the Board of Governors of New York Sea Grant, and the Advisory Council of the Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary.
Dr. Eichhorn earned her Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Miami, her M.A. from West Virginia University, and her B.A. from Canisius College. She also completed study abroad programs in the United Kingdom and Spain.
