Dr. Kathleen G. Kerr serves as the Vice President for Student Affairs. In this role, she works with students, faculty and staff across campus to champion the student experience by advocating for and offering programs, services and initiatives that ensure student success. Prior to arriving at SUNY Oswego, Kerr worked for more than 30 years at the University of Delaware holding various positions, most recently serving as the Associate Vice President for Student Life, with a secondary appointment as an Assistant Professor.
Kerr is nationally known as a leader in student affairs, having served as the President of ACPA, an association for student affairs educators; and for her role developing The Curricular Approach, used internationally to advance college student learning outside the classroom. She has offered numerous presentations and is a published author on the topic, as well as on strategic planning, organizational development, and group dynamics. Kerr attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where she received both her bachelor’s in Psychology and her master’s in College Student Personnel Administration. She earned her EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware.
