This page has information about donating personal items; if you want to donate items that belong to the university, please visit our Transfer page.

What can I donate?
Archives & Special Collections does not accept all donations; our focus is on collecting, preserving, and providing access to materials about the culture and history of SUNY Oswego, Oswego County, and New York State. Although our focus is limited, we are open to a wide variety of item types, such as books, flyers, letters, and more.
What happens after I bring you my materials?
When you bring us materials, we will ask you to sign a Temporary Custody Receipt. This receipt indicates that we have temporary custody of these materials so that we can assess whether or not they are a good fit for our collections. We will complete this assessment within 30 days.
If we determine the donation does not fit with our collections, we will let you know so you can decide what you would like to do with the materials.
If we do determine the donation fits with our collections, we provide you with a Deed of Gift, a document that confirms that we have accepted the donation, and are adding it to our collections.
