As an Academic Planning Coordinator with the Division of Extended Learning at SUNY Oswego, I advise students in the college’s online and hybrid completion programs. With over 15 years of experience in various roles throughout higher education, I am a life-long, non-traditional learner who completed the bulk of my undergraduate and graduate work through distance learning. From 2005 to 2019, I held a number of positions at Jefferson Community College, including Adjunct Faculty Member, Concurrent Enrollment Liaison, Academic Advisor, Interim Assistant Registrar, Transfer Credit Evaluator, and Completion Counselor. I also served as an Instructional Designer, Adjunct Faculty, and Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator for both public and private institutions throughout the country. My experience enables me to understand the challenges non-traditional learners face while they manage their professional, family, and academic needs. I continually strive to improve students’ learning experiences through an individualized, proactive, and inclusive approach as I believe student engagement is critical for student success.
