Daniel Scharf serves as the International Language and Education Center (ILEC) Program Manager, where he oversees diverse English language programs and supports international students, helping provide resources and adapt successfully to academic and cultural life abroad.
His educational background includes an MA in TESOL from Portland State University and a BA in History from Southern Oregon University, recently complemented by a Certificate in Web Development from LeWagon Tokyo. Daniel’s career spans over a decade of teaching and program development internationally. In Japan, he spent six years teaching English, academic literacy, and critical thinking at the university level, where he also created a writing center and developed a curriculum designed to meet students' academic literacy needs. Earlier in his career, Daniel taught English in Germany, gaining valuable experience in cross-cultural communication. His path is enriched by nearly ten years in the culinary industry, where he worked as a restaurant cook.
In his personal time, Daniel enjoys tabletop role-playing games, computer gaming, and experimenting in the kitchen. An avid reader and traveler, he is always eager to explore new cultures and perspectives. At home, when he’s not gaming, he appreciates a good nap, often in the company of his cat.
