Microcredential
This Microcredential consists of three required courses for New York State Certification. Together, these courses provide a comprehensive foundation in safety education, classroom methods, and in-car instructional practices. This microcredential equips educators with the specialized skills and state-recognized qualifications needed to teach driver education, while also expanding professional opportunities in schools and community programs.
All students who have earned at least a bachelor's degree and hold a valid secondary teacher certification.

SFE 550 Fundamentals of Safety (3 credits Online, Asynchronous)
SFE 551 Driver and Traffic Safety Education (6 credits Hybrid at SUNY Oswego Lakeside Campus)
SFE 560 Trends and Problems in Driver Education (3 credits Online, Asynchronous)
