CCMA Research

Creative and scholarly work are central to the CCMA experience. Students collaborate with faculty mentors to explore ideas, tell stories and produce original work across communication, media and the arts.

From media production and design projects to performance, writing and communication research, students apply what they learn in the classroom while developing skills in creativity, critical thinking and communication.

Undergraduate Creative Work and Research

Many CCMA students engage in creative and scholarly projects during their time at Oswego. Working with faculty mentors, students develop concepts, produce work, refine their craft and share their ideas through a variety of formats.

These experiences help students build strong portfolios while gaining skills valued by employers and graduate programs.

Faculty Collaboration

CCMA faculty are active creators, scholars and industry professionals who involve students in their work. Students may collaborate on films, performances, exhibitions, research studies, media projects or publications.

This close mentorship gives students insight into professional creative and communication practices while building meaningful academic relationships.

Studios, Labs and Creative Spaces

Creative work often takes place in dynamic, hands-on environments. Students use studios, production spaces, editing suites, performance venues and digital labs to bring ideas to life.

These spaces allow students to experiment, create and refine their work using industry-relevant tools and technologies.

Showcasing Work

Students regularly share their work through exhibitions, performances, screenings, broadcasts and presentations. Showcasing their work helps students build confidence, refine their communication skills and engage with audiences beyond the classroom.
