University Personnel Due Dates

2023-2024 Schedule for Recommendations

DSI Requests

Pending the approval of the proposed UUP contract for 2022-2026, DSI will be a lump sum award across the bargaining units. Faculty will not submit for DSI for Fall 2023.

Sabbatical Leave Proposals

  • November 13, 2023: Faculty proposals due to Department Chair
  • December 18, 2023: Department Chair recommendations to Deans
  • January 8, 2024: Deans/Library Director recommendations to Provost
  • February 2, 2024: Provost sends notification on sabbaticals

Submission of a comprehensive and detailed report of your sabbatical is required no later than thirty days following your return to campus.

Review of Faculty Members

In the First or Second Year of Service

  • January 8, 2024: Faculty files due to Dept. Chair/Personnel Committee January 26, 2024: Department Chair and Personnel Committee letters (form 101 (.doc) & form 101A (.doc)) due in faculty folder. Review of faculty file is complete.
  • January 29, 2024: Deans’ Administrative Assistants send notices (5-day letter) to faculty that their completed folder is available for review.
  • February 5, 2024: Candidate’s response (if any) is added to the folder.
  • February 12, 2024: Departmental Administrative Assistants forward candidate folder with recommendations to the Deans/Library Director including candidate materials, form 101 (.doc) & form 101A (.doc), faculty response (optional), and Chair/Committee response to faculty response (optional).
  • February 26, 2024: Deans/Library Director make recommendations in writing to the Provost on reappointments.
  • March 11, 2024: Provost makes recommendations to the President on reappointments.
  • March 25, 2024: Personnel Office sends notification of President’s decision.

In the Third or Greater Year of Service, Continuing Appointment, and Promotion

  • January 16, 2024: Faculty files due to Department Chair/Personnel Committee February 9, 2024: Department Chair and Personnel Committee letters (form 101 (.doc) & form 101A (.doc) for yearly review and form 4 (.doc) & form 4A (.doc) for promotion) due in faculty folder. Review of faculty file is complete.
  • February 12, 2024: Deans’ Administrative Assistants send notices (5-day letter) to Faculty that their folder is available for review.
  • February 19, 2024: Candidate’s response (if any) is added to the folder.
  • February 26, 2024: Department Chairs and Committees forward recommendations on appropriate forms to the 1) Deans/Library Director for annual or continuing review (form 101 (.doc) & form 101A (.doc)) or 2) Peer Review Committee (form 4 (.doc) & form 4A (.doc)) for Promotion (with the exception of the Library, which does not have a Peer Review Committee). These should include any responses of the faculty member and subsequent comments by the Committees/Chairs.
  • March 11, 2024: The Peer Review Committee reports to the department committee any changes as indicated in Bylaw Appendix D, section III.L.
  • March 25, 2024: For Promotion, Peer review committee recommendations to the Dean/Library Director. This recommendation will include any comments from the department committee.
  • April 12, 2024: Deans/Library Director make recommendations in writing to the Provost on continuing, reappointments and promotions.
  • April 26, 2024: Provost makes recommendations to the President on continuing appointments, reappointments, and promotions.
  • May 17, 2024: Announcement of decisions on promotions.
  • May 24, 2024: College Panel shall be informed of the decisions on promotions.
  • May 31, 2024: Provost Office sends notice to continuing review faculty.
  • August 26, 2024: Personnel Office sends notification of President’s decision on continuing appointments and reappointments.
