Hart Hall Global Living & Learning Center at SUNY Oswego is a unique residential community that fosters academic excellence, social responsibility, and global awareness. 

Home to many international students, it provides residents with opportunities to live and learn alongside peers from around the world. Hart Hall's mission is to help students embrace their role in the global community, stay informed about international issues, and take meaningful action locally and globally.

Hart Global Living & Learning Center International Study Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to enrich students’ study abroad experiences. Applicants are eligible for a scholarship of up to $1,000 USD based on the guidelines below. Please review the following requirements carefully.

Requirements

  • You must be approved to study abroad by SUNY Oswego’s Office of International Education & Programs or another SUNY institution.
  • Obtain one letter of recommendation from a Resident Assistant or someone in a supervisory position affiliated with Hart Hall.
  • Submit your resume/CV along with your application.
  • You must currently reside in Hart Hall and have lived there for at least two consecutive semesters prior to your intended departure date.

Funding Amounts

The length of your study abroad program dictates the amount of funding you are eligible for:

  • Program of 10 to 29 days: $300.00
  • Program of 30 days to one semester: $500.00
  • Program of two consecutive semesters: $1,000.00

Funding Requests 

The Hart Hall Global Living & Learning Center is accepting applications for grants of up to $500.00 each for the creation of innovative programs developed or proposed by students or faculty that contribute positively to the Global Living & Learning Center. To be considered for funding, proposed programs must include a specific and substantial global component and should contribute to the goal of extending faculty-student interaction beyond the traditional classroom. Programs may be lectures, panel presentations, films, concerts, art exhibits or other innovative intellectual or cultural activities. Priority may be given to programs that will be presented in Hart Hall. To apply, please complete the Funding Request Form.
