Testing Center

Students and employees who are not fully vaccinated or who have not submitted evidence of vaccination will be required to test weekly throughout the semester.  Vaccinated students and employees (with a physical presence on either the Oswego or Syracuse campus) who have not yet received their booster shot must test once per month until they receive their booster.

Surveillance Testing

Weekly Testing: Unvaccinated students (with approved medical or religious exemptions) and employees who have not provided proof of vaccination must continue to complete mandatory weekly testing.

  • Weekly testing will be offered on campus at the Poucher Lounge location (the open area at the far east end of Marano Campus Center adjacent to the Shineman Center). Appointments are not required. Summer hours begin May 17, 2022. Hours will be Tuesdays 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. and Wednesdays 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Weekly COVID testing will be offered at the Syracuse campus on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting May 24 and continuing throughout the summer.

Monthly Testing: Vaccinated students and employees (with a physical presence on either the Oswego or Syracuse campus) who have not yet received their booster shot (or have not provided proof of having received their booster) are required to participate in monthly surveillance testing.

If you are required to participate in monthly surveillance testing, you need to test in one of the following five ways:

  1. Test at the Poucher testing center
    • Students and employees whose last name begins with A-L will test the first or second week of each month
    • Students and employees whose last name begins with M-Z will test the third or fourth week of each month
  2. Test at the Syracuse Campus testing center. Monthly surveillance testing will be offered in Syracuse on the first Wednesday of each month (Feb. 2, March 2, and April 6) from 3 to 6 p.m.
  3. Submit a negative PCR COVID-19 test to the patient portal on the Health Services website or email it to [email protected]
  4. Submit a negative antigen rapid test to the patient portal on the Health Services website or email it to [email protected].
  5. Submit a negative at-home antigen test to the patient portal on the Health Services website or email it to [email protected]. The test must be completed this week. Submit the test with a photo of the following information:
    • the test result labeled with the date and time of the test along with the student’s name and date of birth
    • photo of student identification (SUNY Oswego ID or license) next to the test results

Please plan on testing monthly until you receive your booster.

Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days will be exempt from surveillance testing for 3 months (90 days) from the date they tested positive. Submit your positive test result to the Medicat Patient Portal, and contact Health Services at 315.312.4100 or email: [email protected]
