Health and Safety

Safety is our top priority. SUNY Oswego will follow all federal, state and local health standards in our academic spaces, residential and dining halls and other facilities to reduce health risks to the best of the college’s ability. We are making plans for campus safety, including protocols for testing, sanitization, protective equipment, social distancing and other safety measures.

Academic Excellence

We are committed to delivering high quality academic experiences and will deliver a blend of online, hybrid and face-to-face courses. Students will receive additional communication confirming the instruction format of the classes they will be taking. If necessary, we’ll be prepared to transition all courses to online delivery.

The Campus Experience

The Oswego experience is built on a model that encourages deep learning by surrounding students, faculty and staff with an environment that allows connections, exploration, discovery and understanding. Residential, dining and social experiences, and student support services will be available but delivery will be modified to ensure the health and safety of our campus community.

Oswego Forward Planning Team

People from every corner of our college community have been focusing, planning and envisioning how to move “Oswego Forward.” Three groups, the COVID-19 Task Force, Academic Planning Committee, and the Health and Safety (Restart) Group were assembled to lead restart efforts. These groups consist of faculty governance leaders, faculty members, staff and administrators from all divisions of the college.

Several members of SUNY Oswego’s Health and Safety Group attend or convene weekly meetings with medical experts from local hospitals. Campus leaders and Health and Safety Group members also regularly consult with and share restart strategies with local higher education, medical, business and civic leaders.
