ARTSwego Performing Arts Series Presents

DuPont Brass

DuPont Brass is a one-of-a-kind, brass-driven supergroup from the D.C. Metropolitan Area. Originally composed of five music majors from Howard University trying to raise money for tuition during the Christmas season, they have grown to a 9-piece ensemble consisting of brass, a rhythm section, and vocalists. Through their training in classical and contemporary styles, DuPont Brass has developed a sound they've coined "Eclectic Soul" that mixes varied genres of music, including jazz, hip-hop, and R&B.

Underbelly, Producer/DJ

Trained in classical piano since the age of 7, Underbelly,  an electronic music producer, DJ, pianist and Youtuber (You Suck at Producing), combines his keyboard chops with live fingerdrumming to create bass-heavy yet melodic performances sure to get you moving. Underbelly has shared the stage with acts such as Tchami, Keys n Krates, Giraffage, Bone Thugs n Harmony, and Lido.

New York Theatre Ballet

Founded in 1978 by Artistic Director Diana Byer, and now led by Artistic Director Steve Melendez, New York Theatre Ballet has featured cutting-edge programming and an ever-expanding repertory. With the modern sensibilities of both established and up-and-coming choreographers, the company has brought fresh insight to classic revivals. Still going strong after 40 years, NYTB with its diverse repertory, has explored the past while boldly taking risks on the future with acclaimed programs including NYTB with REP, the Once Upon a Ballet series, the NYTB/Ballet School, and the LIFT Community Services Program.

Mark Kellogg Quintet

Jazz trombonist and chamber musician Mark Kellogg has performed with Allen Vizzutti, Steve Gadd, Jeff Tyzik, Clark Terry, Wynton Marsalis and Eddie Daniels, among others. The jazz quintet performance will include pianist Chris Azzara, bassist Kyle Vock, and vocalist Amy Azzara.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Take a trip into the magical forest of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, where identities are mistaken, love blossoms, and magic reigns. A joyful and enormously entertaining blend of romance, slapstick, and pathos, Shakespeare’s effervescent comic fantasy remains perennially popular for its vivid characters, sparkling wit, and famed comic setpieces. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is brought to life by Actors From The London Stage, a dynamic five-actor company that tours the United States twice annually. With each actor portraying multiple roles, A Midsummer Night’s Dream promises to be a delightful night of theatrical entertainment.

Committed to advancing the taiko art form by increasing the general public's knowledge of taiko and its root culture and developing the depth and breadth of skills within the ever-expanding taiko community, San Jose Taiko is a world-class ensemble, performing extensively both nationally and internationally, reaching more than 75,000 audience members each year. Inspired by traditional Japanese drumming, company performers express the beauty of the human spirit through the voice of the taiko, creating a vibrant, contemporary art form as they strive to connect people through cultural understanding, creative expression, and rhythmic heartbeat.

Clay Jenkins, Jazz Trumpet

Clay Jenkins’ experience as a performer began at an early age, playing and recording with the Stan Kenton Orchestra and later touring with Buddy Rich, The Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and Count Basie Orchestra. Clay will perform original compositions and jazz standards with the Oswego Jazz Project faculty jazz group.
